but it is TIME!

a lot of fun doing what I love to do! While you are spending lots
of indoor time, organizing is a wonderful pastime.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Spring!
Is it time to de-clutter and get organized or just Move!?
Spring cleaning is a tradition that goes back for centuries, probably
even dates back to the early caveman/cavewoman. Can't you just
see it? Female caveperson (they were very politically correct
back then) asks male caveperson, "How long do we have to
keep that pile of bones and rocks? Can we dump those out now?"
Male caveperson, "Hunngghh!!" My how far we have come!
Spring is an excellent time to get rid of winter clothes. As you
switch your closet from winter to summer, take a hard look at
those winter clothes. If you didn’t wear it, or if it’s
past it’s prime, get rid of it! Don't store for another
year what you aren't going to use again. There are people who
can use what you aren't using.
TIP: Heritage Cleaners is collecting women’s clothes for The
Gathering Place.

What about that garage?
As you try to dig out the mower and other yard stuff, why not
think about Zones. Divide the garage into sections: Sports, Tools,
Holiday, Garden. There are some good containers for these things
and you’ll know right where to go when you need something.

Ready to Move?
Remember that a staged home sells faster and for more money.
Getting ready to sell your house is an excellent time to clear
the clutter and pack up non-essentials at the same time. Plan
for success. You are going to move anyway when your house sells
so why not have a lot of the packing, sorting, cataloging, and
donating or selling done before the move. Sometimes renting a
small storage unit for a few weeks or months will get you thousands
of dollars more on the final price of your house because there
is no clutter for the prospective buyer to look past.
Leave some room in the house for a buyer to visualize their “stuff”
empty spaces are GOOD. I have now staged 6 properties that sold
in 2 days! Of course, I’ve staged more than this, but the
average is about 41 days-below the average selling time that I’ve
seen. It can happen! In these houses, the owners followed my suggestions;
we moved some furniture around, decluttered and Presto! SOLD
TIP: Prioritize
TIP: Depersonalize
TIP: Clean!!! Clean sells best

What is the most common human fear? Not fear
of heights or fear of public speaking. It is the fear of change
and almost everyone on the planet no matter the race, creed, sex,
political affiliation or anything else all share this fear. It
is this fear, in part, that has us holding on to "treasures"
that we will never use or even look at again until we move.
It is amazing how strong this fear is and how it rules our lives.
A professional organizer will help you overcome this fear in two
very important ways.
1) When you see your stuff through other eyes
you begin to see it as it really is. Often you will find joy in
uncovered treasures and even more often you will see that a lot
of what you have been storing is not really treasure at all.
2) A professional organizer will ask questions
of you to help you determine what things really mean to you --
questions you may never think to ask yourself!

Jump-start the organization in your new house. I offer a move
in service too. I will set up your kitchen, place your furniture
and accessories, hang your artwork all while you supervise the
moving at the old place.
